Hacking at EthGlobal Brussels 2024: The Submariners and PoolSwap

Github Traffic

Participating in EthGlobal Brussels 2024 was a transformative experience. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the brightest minds in the Web3, Blockchain, and AI sectors from around the world.

Our team, the Submariners, developed PoolSwap, a groundbreaking platform designed to tackle the regulatory challenges that institutions face, which often hinder their ability to invest confidently in DeFi.

The Challenge: Regulatory Liquidity Constraints

One of the significant challenges we tackled at the 2024 ETHGlobal Brussels can be summarized in three words: regulatory liquidity constraints. Despite the immense opportunities presented by decentralized finance, regulatory scrutiny deters institutions from providing liquidity to DeFi platforms. Enabling institutions to confidently engage in DeFi is crucial for unlocking substantial liquidity and fostering innovation. Identity verification plays an essential role in achieving this by enhancing security, ensuring compliance with laws such as KYC and AML, and building user trust.

Our Solution: PoolSwap

PoolSwap addresses these challenges by leveraging Uniswap Labs V4’s customizable hooks and Worldcoin's ZK Proof Authentication. This combination allows users to create pools with custom hooks that use KYC verification status to determine daily swap limits. This is just one example of the custom hook’s potential. It can be adapted for various use cases, aiding in regulatory compliance and building user trust, which will encourage institutional adoption of DeFi.

Uniswap V4 introduces customizable hooks for liquidity pools, a singleton contract for efficiency, and flexible fee tiers facilitating direct ETH trading pairs. Worldcoin provides World ID, utilizing biometric data to ensure secure and unique digital identities. By combining these technologies, PoolSwap aims to create a more secure and compliant DeFi ecosystem, enabling greater institutional participation and liquidity.
